Analysis of Coupling Region in Transmission-Line Accelerators.

Abstract

A Laplace-transform analysis is presented of an equivalent circuit which represents a pair of asymmetric transmission lines coupled through a reentrant discontinuity. This cavity configuration is applicable for transmission-line accelerator designs. General expressions for the time-dependent open-circuit output voltage are derived. Some numerical examples for specific line geometries are presented. (Author)
