Evaluation of Total Heat Transfer in Hypersonic Flow Environments.

Abstract

Equations for the total heat transfer to bodies in constant hypersonic flow environments and a ballistic trajectory environment have been derived. Using these equations and graphical results presented, total heat transfer can be easily evaluated for selected sphere-cone and flat-face cone geometries. (Author)
