Recommended Interface Standards for an Army Standard Energy Monitoring and Control System.

Abstract

This report evaluated existing interfacing standards for use with an Army Standard Energy Monitoring and Control System (EMCS). The interfacing requirements for the Army Standard EMCS and the criteria for making the required evaluations are presented. Descriptions of the existing standards which were found to be candidates for evaluation are presented, along with the results of the evaluations. This report recommends that for the Army Standard EMCS, a concept similar to IEEE standard 583 be used for parallel data interface and that the EIA R232-C standard be used for serial data interfaces.
