A Preliminary Design for a Neuropsychophysiological Human Engineering Test Battery.
Abstract
A preliminary design for a computer based Neuropsychophysiological Human Engineering Test Battery is developed. This system provides for the automated administration of a battery of tests designed to measure human performance as reflected in the electroencephalogram, cortically evoked potentials, and other psychophysiological measures of performance. This sytem will be capable of recording and analyzing up to 100 channels of electrophysiological data. The resulting system design is centered around a main computer which coordinates system activities, stores experimental data, analyzes experimental data, and generates displays and final reports. Initial data collection is achieved through the use of multiple microprocessor based data acquisition units. The subject station, where stimuli are generated and subject responses take place, is also under microprocessor control. Provision is also made for transmitting data from a remote location.
