Turn Control of Submerged Vehicles.

Abstract

Rapid turn, by application of hard rudder by the pilot, is usually accompanied by large roll and pitch excursions, and loss of depth. A coordinated-control strategy is developed which eliminates or greatly reduces these undesirable side effects. Preliminary work is also presented on a nonlinear-feedback implementation. (Author)
