Mutagenicity Evaluation of 1-P-Nitrophenylazo-2-Naphthaleneamine.

Abstract

A mutagenicity evaluation of PNNA dye is given based on results obtained from the Ames salmonella/microsome plate test, the in vitro transformation of BALB/3T3 cells assay, the mouse lymphoma forward mutation assay, the unscheuled DNA synthesis assay and the mouse dominant lethal assay. Although the dye is not believed a serious genetic risk to mammals at low concentrations, the potential risk as a carcinogen and mutagen cannot be disregarded.
