Analysis of a Model for IR Suppression.

Abstract

Research directed to assessment of the role of radiationless, collisional de-excitation of excited CO2 and H2O in enhancing the effective extinction coefficient of lampblack smokes in air is described. It is found that, unless the CO2 or H2O is highly excited, the effect is negligible. (Author)
