Asymptotic Normality and Efficiencies of Tests Based on Modified Spacings.

Abstract

Tests based on adjusted or modified spacings are proposed for testing goodness of fit problems. The weak convergence of the empirical distribution function of such modified spacings is studied using some earlier results of the authors. The asymptotic theory under close alternative sequences is also given thus enabling one to calculate the asymptotic relative efficiencies of such tests. (Author)
