Some Properties of Condensing Maps.

Abstract

A measure of noncompactness of bounded sets in a metric space was introduced which was called Kuratowskii measure of noncompactness, or 2-measure. This concept along with the associated notion of an alpha-contraction, has proved useful in several areas of differential equations.
