Thermochemistry of Gaseous Compounds of Metals.

Abstract

Thermochemical studies of a number of inorganic gaseous metal halides and oxides were completed, leading to determination of standard enthalpies and entropies of formation from which standard Gibbs energies of formation can be derived. Other properties determined include bond dissociation energies and ionization potentials. The chemical systems studied during this period were tantalum fluorides (monofluoride through pentafluoride), the thulium fluorides molybdenum pentafluoride and lutetium monoxide.
