Decision Aids in Estimating Personnel Requirements.

Abstract

Three studies were carried out in order to evaluate the utility and reliability of a flow diagram designed to assess the ability requirements of jobs or tasks. The flow diagram was an easy to use systematic procedure for making a series of binary decisions as to whether or not each of 40 human abilities are essential to the successful conduct of a job or task. Results indicated that the instrument was consistently reliable (r=.47) for a variety of jobs and tasks. The uses of the instrument and recommendations for future research were discussed. (Author)
