Hydrographic Winch System,

Abstract

This report contains a complete physical and operational description of a hydrographic winch system developed at NOTS. Significant design features and operational parameters of the winch are given; the functions of the components of the system are discussed; and the operation of the system in each of five available operating modes is explained with special emphasis placed on the Constant Depth mode which is currently undergoing test and evaluation.
