VDS Towline Tester.

Abstract

This memorandum discusses the design, operation, performance and maintenance of a VDS towline tester, available at USL, that is capable of testing VDS towlines and their components (1) so that towline developments can be guided by some of the realistic conditions encountered in the field and (2) so that towline serviceability can be examined prior to installation on a ship.
