Fog Prevention in Aeronautics,

Abstract

Two types of transparent coatings that can act as antifogging agents for aircraft windshields, photographic lenses or astronaut helmet shield are discussed one type is water repellent, the other absorbs moisture slightly forming a thin film protective layer. Polybutylenes polyglycols, polyvinyls alcohol, polyethers and polysiloxanes are mentioned as some of the materials which can perform well in this application. (LS-PL).
