Source Excitation of an Open, Parallel-Plate Waveguide. Numerical Results.

Abstract

In this work we investigate numerically the problem of the source excitation of an open, parallel-plate waveguide. The following assumptions are made for the source current: (1) the current is oriented in the y-direction, (2) it is located at x = 0, (3) there is no variation in the y-direction, and (4) the current has exp (i beta z) behavior along the longitudinal z-direction. We provide graphical output for the EM-field components as functions of a longitudinal propagation constant and transverse coordinates and then discuss these results. (Author)
