Long Life X-Ray Tubes for AN/TAQ-2 System.

Abstract

A series of modifications has produced an x-ray tube for the AN/TAQ-2 system having at least six times the life of the tube in present use. This was achieved principally by modifying metallurgical properties of the tube anode. A tube using a single crystal tungsten anode was demonstrated to have more than ten times the life of the present tube. A proposed MIL specification was written for the long life tube. (Author)
