Static Force Tests of Conic and Biconic Bodies at Mach Number 10

Abstract

A static force test was conducted in the hypersonic Mach number regime to obtain experimental aerodynamic data on conic and biconic bodies. The test was performed at a nominal Mach number of 10 at a free-stream unit Reynolds number of one million per ft. The angle-of-attack range was -14 to 14 deg. Model flow-field photographs and oil-flow photographs were obtained on several configurations at selected model attitudes and test conditions.
