Wittig Synthesis of Allylic Organosilicon Compounds.

Abstract

The reactions of Beta-silylalkylidenetriphenylphosphoranes, prepared by the action of alkylidenetriphenylphosphoranes on iodomethyl-silicon compounds, followed by deprotonation of the resulting Beta-silylalkyltriphenylphosphonium iodides, with aldehydes and ketones provide a useful route to allylic silicon compounds.
