Analytic Scaling of Efficiency for the Gyrotron Travelling Wave Amplifier Operating at Cyclotron Harmonics.

Abstract

An analytical expression for the efficiency of the gyrotron travelling wave amplifier is derived for the case of nonfundamental cyclotron harmonic operation. It scales the efficiency with respect to the modes and parameters of operation and gives the conditions for optimum performance. (Author)
