Calculation of the Equilibrium Geometry of a Cable Being Laid with Non- Zero Bottom Tension

Abstract

A method is derived for calculating the equilibrium geometry and tension of a cable being laid with non-zero bottom tension in the presence of a cross current. A computer program is presented which performs the calculations.
