A Target Selection Model.

Abstract

A target selection model is discussed in which the decision maker must select from a set of targets the subset having maximum total value. The targets are presented in a fixed order known in advance to the decision maker, but the choices are related so that not all selections are possible. Optimal decision of a target set among several decision makers is considered and formulated as a dynamic programming problem. The problem with two decision makers is used to illustrate a formulation which leads to a more efficient computational scheme. An example is included. (Author)
