Security/Privacy Considerations in Data Processing.

Abstract

This thesis contains the result of a study of the computer security/privacy problem. The primary purpose is to present the fundamental issues of computer security in survey form. Various protection schemes and administrative techniques are examined and related to security programs. Problems in the development of secure systems for the future are appreciated, and approaches for secure interim programs are suggested. This paper is directed at data processing managers with the goal of helping them better understand the vulnerability of data in computers. It is intended to foster a sense of security awareness among people who use computers to process data. (Author)
