A Comparison of the Existence Theorems of Kantorovich and Moore.

Abstract

This report shows a way to save money in the evaluation of accuracy of approximate solutions of finite systems of nonlinear algebraic and trancendental equations, based on the comparison of an older method for this purpose with a newer one. It is shown that the two methods are theoretically about equally effective, while the newer one is cheaper computationally. This conclusion has been verified in practice, using operational UNIVAC 1108/1110 software.
