Excitations and Metastability in Amorphous Semiconductors,

Abstract

The Anderson negative-U model for diamagnetic glasses is studied. The optical and thermodynamic excitations are evaluated for equilibriated and non-equilibriated systems. The model is generalized to include non-local phonons and these are shown to lead to new low energy processes which may be important for thermodynamic properties. (Author)
