Phase Transformations in Ti Alloys - A Review of Recent Developments.

Abstract

The phase transformations in Ti alloys are reviewed. This review augments earlier reviews and emphasizes several transformations which have recently received attention. These include athermal omega-phase formation, martensitic transformations, nucleation and growth decomposition of the beta-phase, the ordering reaction in hcp and bcc Ti alloys and the effects of processing history on microstructure.
