Studies on the Interactions between Electromagnetic Fields and Plasmas.

Abstract

This is the final report on a variety of subjects in the non-linear interactions between electromagnetic fields and plasmas. Work includes both theoretical and experimental efforts. Principal results are: the first experimental verification of the existence of two distinct group velocities in a non-linear dispersive medium; and the development of a general vector theory of parametric excitation of plasma waves in a magnetized plasma.
