Some Computed Effects of Assumed Inoperative Transducer Staves on Beam Formation and SSI Performance in the AN/SQS-26 (XN-2) Sonar Equipment

Abstract

This technical note is a supplement to a previous TRACOR technical memorandum on redundancy, which contained discussions of the effects of inoperative transducer elements, power amplifiers and preamplifiers on beam patterns and SSI bearing error, as well as an analytical treatment of the effects of noise on SSI bearing errror. Only random inoperative elements and inoperative horizonal layers of elements were considered in that investigation.
