Debris Hazard from Blast Loaded Plywood Sheet Closures

Abstract

Experimental results are presented from the blast loading of plywood sheet closures suitable for basement shelters. Pressure-time histories of the blast loading are shown and the panel deflection that occurs as result of the loading forces. High speed photographs illustrate the panel breakout and the debris hazard it creates.
