Efficient Peroxyloxalate Chemiluminescence from Reactions of N-Trifluoromethylsulfonyl Oxamides with Hydrogen Peroxide and Fluorescers.

Abstract

A new highly efficient class of chemiluminescent oxalic acid derivatives, N-trifluoromethyl sulfonyl oxamides, has been discovered. One member of this class, N,N'-bis(2,4,5-trichlorophenyl)-N,N'-bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl) oxamide, has given the highest chemiluminescence quantum yield (34%) reported for a chemiluminescent reaction in an organic solvent system.
