Modeling Recreation Use in Water-Related Parks.

Abstract

This report extends to nonreservoir parks the earlier work of the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers on the recreation use of reservoir parks. A thorough review of the literature was followed by a test of several models including those already completed by the U. S. Army Engineer District, Sacramento. For this test, data from New York State Parks were used. The results are somewhat weaker than those obtained by the Sacramento District. This is attributed, in part, to the fact that the data were collected for another purpose and did not contain as many observations as would be desirable for a spatial analysis of this type. (Author)
