Handbook of Recommended Practices for the Determination of Liquid Monopropellant Rocket Engine Performance,

Abstract

This handbook is intended to serve as a guide for the experienced test engineer in the design, installation, and operation of systems to be used for the direct measurement of those quantities which are of fundamental importance to the determination of monopropellant thruster performance. The procedures and defining relations for reducing the measurements to performance parameters are also given. This handbook is composed of six discrete sections pertaining to force and impulse measurement, propellant mass usage and flow measurement, pressure measurement, temperature measurement, exhaust gas composition measurement, and data reduction and performance determination. References, appendixes, and glossaries are included with each section as necessary. (Author)
