Introducing a Formal Strategic Planning System in a Business Firm.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to describe the development and implementation of a formal strategic planning system in a European company which is wholly-owned by a Japanese corporation. A conceptual framework is presented for the design of a strategic planning system. This framework leads to the implementation of a planning process within the business firm and the development of a planning methodology to be applied at the strategic business unit level.
