Design and Fabrication of a Textured Helmet Cover

Abstract

The shape of the head, neck, and shoulder area of the body is the most characteristic feature in the outline of a person in a field environment. This provides one of the most consicuous signatures in detection and identification of combat troops. The purpose of this study was to explore an approach toward reducing the signature through the use of a neck shield and a highly textured surface.
