Optical Power Spectrum Analysis of Processed Imagery.

Abstract

This report describes the approach, procedures and results of a study to examine the use of information density values based on image power spectra as tools in the selection and application of digital image processing techniques. Information density measures are determined for unprocessed and processed imagery and compared with observer target recognition performance. The report describes modifications to the information density measure to improve the relationship with performance and to select the most effective processing technique. (Author)
