The Anti-Soviet Dynamic: The Basis of Present Chinese African Policy.

Abstract

This paper briefly discusses the involvement of the People's Republic of China and the Soviet Union in African affairs with emphasis on the PRC presence. It also examines the nature and extent of this Sino-Soviet rivalry from a historical/political perspective. The paper concludes with a discussion of the implications of the Sino-Soviet dispute for US foreign policy formulation and national security concerns. (Author)
