Design of a Microprocessor Based Cardiotachometer.

Abstract

A microprocessor based cardiotachometer has been designed and fabricated in-house using 8080 Intel microcomputer hardware and assembly language software. The cardiotachometer accurately calculates and digitally displays beat-by-beat hear rate in beats per minute. The design incorporates standard semiconductor memory and I/O integrated circuits. Operational understanding does not require extensive microprocessor design background. In fact, the cardiotach's design provides excellent basic information in the use of microprocessor in the instrumentation field. (Author)
