A Kernel-Based Secure Unix Design.

Abstract

The UNIX Time-Sharing System was developed by Bell Laboratories for the DEC PDP-11 series of computers. The Secure UNIX Prototype Project has addressed the problem of defining a secure version of UNIX that preserves as many as possible of its desirable qualities: completeness and simplicity of design, low cost, and an extensive amount of quality software. This report presents a prototype design for a Secure UNIX system based on security kernel technology previously developed. (Author)
