An Abbreviated Instructive Description of the Resistive Hose instability.

Abstract

The resistive hose instability of a self-pinched, relativistic electron beam in a collision-dominated background plasma is investigated. Previously known results are recovered in a simple instructive way, without going through a lengthy mathematical derivation. (Author)
