Infrared Molecular Lasers Pumped by Electronic to Vibrational Energy Transfer.

Abstract

Electronic-vibrational energy transfer studies are reported. IR lasers are pumped by these state specific transfer events, offering a large number of infrared laser transitions which were not available in the past. Cross sections for relevant processes were measured and the results interpreted in terms of the interaction potentials responsible for our observations. (Author)
