Discussion of Paper by Good and Gaskins on Density Estimation and Bump Hunting.

Abstract

The view is expressed that the best way to evaluate the approach of Good and Gaskins is to compare it with alternative approaches to density estimation currently available. As a contribution towards this comparative study, this paper describes an analysis of their data using the density-quantile estimation approach proposed by Parzen (1979). (Author)
