Economic Analysis of an Arctic Icebreaking Tanker Transportation System: Nuclear versus Fossil.

Abstract

The author compares the movement of crude oil from the North Shore using conventional fossil fueled tankers vs. nuclear powered icebreakers including transshipment at an ice-free port on the east coast. The study points out the economic competitiveness of the nuclear icebreaking tanker transportation system. (Author)
