The Fundamentals of Thermal Imaging Systems.

Abstract

The purpose of this book is to provide the reader with a document which brings together under one cover an overview of radiometric and photometric concepts involved in thermal imaging systems. Governing equations are derived from simple fundamental concepts. Also, models used for the visual discrimination i.e., detection, recognition, or identification, of real scene objects are discussed. It is hoped that the text will be useful to FLIR designers, evaluators, and thermal imaging system modelers, as well as those whose sole interest is a grasp of the concepts involved in thermal imaging.
