Instrumentation for the Measurement of Turbulence Components in a Three-Dimensional Flow Field.

Abstract

A three-coordinate hot-wire anemometer system for turbulence measurements has been implemented for use in three-dimensional flows. High-speed analog processing produces the turbulence data in real time, including all double correlations. A 2-mm diameter miniature probe has been developed. The system has been tested in reference flows and used in a curved boundary layer. (Author)
