Research on Magnetohydrodynamic Sound Transducers.

Abstract

Theoretical and experimental studies as to provide basic information on the generation of sound waves in an electrolyte (such as sea water) by high current pulsing of submerged induction coils. The study shall provide, if possible, the modeling criteria for the applicability of the phenomena to underwater acoustic transducers for use in sonar work.
