The Fleischner Society Symposium (9th) Held in Stockholm (Sweden) on 11-13 June 1979.
Abstract
The annual Symposium of the Fleischner Society is the major event of the year in chest radiology. The society's multidisciplinary approach is conducive to important papers and symposia concerning chest disease that may bear only indirectly on the practice of radiology. While there was no single unifying theme, the meeting was highlighted by Sackner's review of his work on the mucociliary transport mechanism in asthma, Weibel's impressive lecture on the microstrucutre of the lung and its relationship to pulmonary physiology, and West's plans for future experiments during weightlessness.
