Fleet Hardness Variation.

Abstract

The variation of nuclear hardness in a fleet of aircraft is considered and the potential hardness degradation mechanisms identified. These include cracks, corrosion, paint deterioration, and aging of equipment. Methods are developed whereby the variation in hardness in a fleet could be estimated for each of these degradation mechanisms.
