An Evaluation of the Bird/Aircraft Strike Hazard at Selected Pacific Air Force (PACAF) Installations.

Abstract

Five Pacific Air Force (PACAF) installations were surveyed 9-26 May 1979 by the Air Force Engineering and Services Center's Bird/Aircraft Strike Hazard Team. During the survey, operational and environmental factors which combine to create bird strike hazards at each installation were observed. Specific recommendations based on observations are provided for each base to help reduce the hazard. (Author)
