How Plastics Fail -- The Churchill Conference.

Abstract

This report reviews the presentations and discussion at the 5th International Conference on Deformation, Yield and Fracture of Polymers held at the University of Cambridge on 2-5 April, 1979. The work presented at the Conference gives some insight into the state-of-the-art of research on how polymeric materials fail. No breakthroughs were revealed, but the tone of the Conference suggested a coming to grips with nonlinear processes. (Author)
