Digital Simulation of a Multispectral Scanning Sensor System.

Abstract

This report presents a fast, efficient method for simulating multispectral scanning astronomical sensors. A general description of different simulation approaches is discussed. The models used in the proposed method to characterize the sensor and its major radiation sources are presented. These models are developed to describe the basic signals and noise in the system. The structure and features of the resulting simulation are discussed. Representative sample outputs of the simulation are presented. (Author)
