Reusability of Filament Wound Launch Tubes.

Abstract

An analysis of the launch tube environment produced by an aluminized rocket propellant was performed. Several matrix and liner materials were evaluated for their suitability for repeated use in launch tubes. Tubular specimens were fabricated and tested using a torch test fixture and a grit blast procedure. Twelve of the most promising systems were selected for shipment to the Army Missile Command for further evaluation. (Author)
